Department of Neurology

The Department of Neurology at the School of Medicine has a long and distinguished history in research and patient care for neurologic illness. From its founding as the first department of neurology in the state of Maryland to being the coordinating center for the multi-site clinical trial that led to the FDA approval of Copaxone in collaboration with Teva Pharmaceuticals and the development of the largest Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center in the mid-Atlantic region, the department has been a leader in the care of neurologic illnesses for decades.

Gifts to the Department of Neurology help further research-based, methodological, and scientific advances to treating neurologic illnesses.
