Donald J. Hobart Scholarship Fund
Donald J. Hobart Scholarship Fund A Project of School of Medicine Scholarships
The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (PTRS) develops physical therapist practitioners and scholars to restore physical function and performance, prevent physical injury and disease and promote physical wellness. The Donald J. Hobart Scholarship Fund was established with a gift of $10,000 in 1991 by the Physical Therapy Alumni Association and the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of PTRS. This endowed fund was named in honor of Donald J. Hobart, PhD, a former faculty member and assistant chair of the department, ex-officio alumni executive board member, and donor.
This scholarship is designed to recognize a student who demonstrates excellence in the following areas: leadership abilities, academic standing, compassion and humanitarian qualities and involvement in extracurricular activities.
How can you help?
Gifts to the Donald J. Hobart Scholarship Fund help support exemplary PTRS students. By supporting scholarships, PTRS can remain competitive among its peers, by attracting highly qualified applicants who are being pursued by other institutions. Scholarships make sure that driven, qualified students of all backgrounds obtain the support needed to succeed. Additionally, scholarships like this one allow PTRS to expand, strengthen, and diversify our student body.
