Woodward Society Chief Residents Fund
Woodward Society Chief Residents Fund A Project of School of Medicine Residents/Fellows
Established in 2016, the Woodward Society honors one of the most notable Chairman of Medicine to date, Theodore Woodward (pictured right). Under his leadership, the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine grew from four divisions and 10 house officers to 10 divisions, 65 house officers, and 44 fellows by 1975. Dr. Woodward had an immeasurable impact on the expertise, growth, and prestige of all who are associated with the Department.
Many of the Department of Medicine's former Chief Residents were mentored by Dr. Woodward, and will come together as the Woodward Society. Through annual meetings, lecture series, and other events, the Woodward Society will provide an opportunity to gather and reminisce with other former Chiefs and a forum for discussion and innovation.
Former Chair, Dr. Frank Calia, will serve as the Woodward Society's Honorary Chairman.
How can you help?
The Woodward Society will be a source of camaraderie and networking for former Chief Residents of the Department of Medicine. Your gift helps the society become self-sustaining so it can grow and expand throughout the years with additional events, lectures, and educational opportunities. Thank you.
