Richard F. Mayer, MD, Lectureship in Neurology
Richard F. Mayer, MD, Lectureship A Project of School of Medicine Lectureships
During five decades at the Department of Neurology, Dr. Richard Mayer was an unparalleled leader, serving four years as interim chief and dozens more as a distinguished member of Neurology faculty. Dr. Mayer's passing in 2016 was a loss for the Department of Neurology and for those of us who considered him a mentor, colleague, and friend, and who aspire every day to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Mayer's compassion, curiosity, and creativity.
The Department of Neurology plans to establish a named lectureship in memory of Dr. Mayer: the Richard F. Mayer, MD, Lectureship.
How can you help?
Lectureships are among the most prestigious of naming opportunities in academic medicine, and this initiative named after Dr. Mayer will bring respected physicians, neurologists, and brain scientists to campus to speak with faculty members, residents, and medical students about their cutting-edge, forward-looking work within our field.
A generous resident who trained with Dr. Mayer has already committed $10,000 to our goal of $100,000.
Your donation in memory of Dr. Mayer helps ensure that his dedication to the Department of Neurology endures in a new way that will benefit our entire community. Thank you!
